01. teamLab Borderless in Azabudai Hills
On February 9, 2024, the visionary art collective at the vanguard of digital art, teamLab, presents the rebirth of its magnum opus - teamLab Borderless. After a brief interregnum, this magnificent, groundbreaking museum is back, nestled within the lavish new Azabudai Hills development.
Within its walls, you'll be immersed in ingenious artworks created through digital technology and a symphony of interactive wonders that gracefully respond to each visitor, continuously weaving fresh narratives never to be repeated, and transcending the confines of the spaces in the museum. The demarcation between rooms, artworks, and visitors dissolves in this enchanting realm, leaving visitors spellbound.
The new incarnation promises a mesmerizing showcase of both profoundly evolved masterpieces and entirely new creations, once again redefining the boundaries between artworks and observers for a truly borderless experience.
02. TREE by NAKED yoyogi park
Another elegant digital art experience, engaging even more of the senses, is TREE by NAKED yoyogi park. This extended-reality restaurant serves a full-course menu of fusion cuisine in harmony with visual, aural, and aromatic artistic expressions in a curated nature-themed setting.
Incorporating projection mapping and virtual reality, the synthesis of the digital and physical is directed by Ryotaro Muramatsu, the founder of renowned creative company NAKED, INC. The cuisine is overseen by Japanese chefs fluent in Hawaiian, French, and vegan gastronomy. And, incredibly, the aromatic side is arranged by a 21st-generation master of kodo, the Japanese "way of incense."
03. SMALL WORLDS Miniature Museum
From the virtual to the physical - in 2020, Small Worlds Tokyo opened as the largest indoor miniatures theme park on earth. Here, the Japanese penchant for exquisite detail is expressed through delightful miniscule cityscapes. From real-world destinations to beloved anime universes, it's easy to lose yourself in these meticulous dioramas that epitomize modern Japanese craftsmanship.
You can also find yourself here - as a miniature resident. One stand-out feature of the museum is the figure-making program: scan yourself, your family, even your pet, and have your likeness 3D-printed in perfect miniature. For jet-setting visitors, express printing and shipping are offered. Or, choose the premier "Resident Rights Plan" to make your mark on Small Worlds with your likeness living in the museum for a full year.
